Joe Rufa is a Brooklyn-based director and animator with nearly two decades of experience across art direction, motion design, branding, and 3D — for brands and agencies ranging from scrappy independents and startups to some of the most recognized names in entertainment, tech, and culture.

He came up through graphic design and illustration — show posters, web design, restaurant identities — before an obsession with filmmaking pulled him sideways into motion and 3D. One discipline leading to the next, each one informing the others.

Working as Houseguest, he brings a rare combination of techniques and taste to the kind of work that demands both creative problem solving and hands-on craft.
