Ever since the ancient Babylonians to modern day computer scientists, people have been calculating the digits of π as a way to test technology. In honor of Pi Day(March 14), Google announced that developer advocate Emma Haruka Iwao broke the world record for calculating Pi using Google's Compute Engine with this time traveling animation. And speaking of breaking records, at the time of release, it became the highest-performing piece the agency had produced for Google's social accounts.
